What is Macthinker?

Macthinker is the ship between the Prethinker (Brian) and Mac Opsys! Both are from Toontown: Corporate Clash. Mac has (so far) only appeared in outside media, whereas Brian is in-game and in some outside media.

Who is Brian/Prethinker?

Brian (title name: the Prethinker) is a Sellbot manager boss. He works for C.O.G.S Inc and can be found in the Schoolhouse Basement after getting to rank 10 on the Toontown Central kudos board.He's described as a "know-it-all" and "boastful". Most of his characteristics are related to intelligence/intellect, although he has extensive knowledge on trivial things. He's also described as socially inept #lol.

Who is Mac Opsys?

Mac Opsys, otherwise known as the intelligence master of the toon resistance, is a purple rabbit. It's coloring is meant to resemble a dutch rabbit.Although there is little about him in game, he runs many of the toon resistance broadcasts (blogposts) and is often associated with the game's ARGS and big events.He's Winn Dos's best friend and, yes, his name is a play on the operating system (macOS).

so...WHY?

Yes, they only interact twice (3 if you count the social media comic). But I have my reasonings ok!! ok! You will see. You Will See.I'm going to be giving the "sparknotes" verison and I'll try to stay as close to canon as I can to explain my reasonings.

Similar theme

Both Brian and Mac share a common theme, or rather word: intelligence. The intelligence master vs boastful brainiac.
Mac is Professor Pete's star student and Brian "graduated top of his class in the most prestigious institutions you could ever imagine"
(his words, see blogpost 94).

Physically similar?

Despite one being a toon and one being a cog, they do share some similar characteristics. The two main ones are that they're both purple and that they both have a lighter mark on their neck area. Sure, this is probably reaching but it's an interesting reflection/comparison right?

First appearance

Mac technically appeared first in the "hired help" comic, but was officially introduced in "An alarming rate of aptitude". Brian was also first introduced in the same blogpost, which naturally, started off their crazy rivalry.
Brian's theme was also quote retweeted on the announcement tweet shortly after. Just throwing it out there.

My opinion

I think their dynamic can be very interesting to work with. Despite the fact they're fighting on opposite sides, they share more in common than they'd probably like to admit.Personality wise, they both seem to lean more on smarts/intellect (& also are possibly a little egotistical. varying degrees). They're also both somewhat isolated from others. Brian works in a(n abandoned) basement, with only his brianbots to keep him company. While Mac continuously works at his computer, so much so that it's been stated it has to take mandatory breaks (blogpost 150). He hasn't been implied to do a lot of ranger work which leads me to believe he's somewhat distanced off from other toons (other than Winn #bffs). This isn't 100% confirmed though, so it's more of my interpretation.They can easily become reflections of each other and I think that's just a really fun idea to play with. To be so alike, yet so different.

I'd also like to throw in general cog x toon shenanigans. I think it's fun to think about their similarities but also their differences. This doesn't just apply to them so I won't go into detail but I trust you get the idea...Also they're both my favorites..heheeh... ok I'm out of elements now. #yapping
